MARKETING STRATEGIES OF THE SELECTED WATER-REFILLING STATION AT MANDAUE CITY 2007-2008

The study conducted by the commerce students of University of Cebu – Banilad on the Marketing Strategies of the Selected Water – Refilling Station at Mandaue City reveals that most Water – Refilling Stations’ Target markets are both households and business firms. ,In marketing mix, PRODUCT and PLACE is used often as marketing strategy. PROMOTIONS and PRICE is fairly used as marketing strategy. They used often the BRANDS of the PRODUCT as marketing strategy. The DISTRIBUTION ROUTE is often used as marketing strategy to reach the target markets’ PLACE. PERSONNAL SELLING is used often as marketing strategy for PROMOTION and PRODUCT LINE PRICING is the PRICING strategy used often.

THE RESEARCHERS' RECOMMENDATION

Based on the findings of our study, we observed that most water-refilling station have the same marketing strategies. So therefore we recommend that the managers may use other different marketing mix which can be found below:

PRODUCT : branding, pacjaging, product processes, product mix, and labeling
PLACE: Distribution route, middlemen and market exposure
PROMOTION: Personnal selling and mass selling
PRICE: Product line pricing, optional product pricing, captive product pricing, by product pricing,product bundle pricing.

Other Recommendations

To the managers especially of a competitive business, they must conduct study and must be aware of the importance and different marketing strategies. The findings of this study will help them recommend and apply marketing strategies to their own business.

To the future managers who want to engage in a competitive kind of business, they must study and know what are the successful marketing strategies they need to apply to their own business. They may attend seminars about Marketing or Marketing Strategies. They may also pursue further studies about marketing strategies.


To the management students, they must take seriously the lessons taught by their instructors especially about Marketing and Marketing Strategies for their future. These things are vital when they engage in business or will have their own business someday. They may also organize or request seminars, activities or workshops that will teach, enhance and develop their marketing and business skills.
